 Lord Suantian of North Heaven

Birthday:  The third day of the third lunar month

Suantian God, the full name of the Northern Zhenwu Suantian God, also known as the Arctic Suantian God. Often referred to as Beidi, Zhenwu Great or Suantian God. It is also known as Xuanwu Great, Arctic Great, Arctic Yousheng Zhenjun, Kaitian Great, Yuan Wushen, etc.; commonly known as God God, God God or Emperor Grandpa. It symbolizes the North Star. It is the Taoist god who governs the north and rules all aquatics (hence the sea god). Because the north is black among the five colors, it is also known as the black emperor.

Suantian God was also the god of the Ming dynasty to protect the country, the god of war, the Ming Dynasty officially built many Xuantian God temples, and the official worship. The Northern Emperor is said to have the supernatural powers of eliminating disasters, relieving difficulties, controlling waters and fires, protecting martial arts and prolonging life, so it is quite popular. The ritual record says "the former Zhuniao, then the Xuanwu." Zhuniao refers to the seven stars in the south, and Xuanwu refers to the seven stars in the north, which is the Big Dipper. The ancients thought that the North Star was the god of heaven and had great power, so it was highly respected by the people in the Han Dynasty. It was not until the Song Dynasty that the Big Dipper was personified. There are Dousu among the Xuanwu seven places. Taoism attaches great importance to the worship of the stars, saying that "Nandou begs life and Beidou begs death." Everyone transitions from Nandou to Beidou from the day of reincarnation. The life and life of human beings are governed by the Beidou. Therefore, when people pray for the extension of their growth and longevity, they must worship the Emperor Zhenwu. The personification of Suantian God originated from the Big Dipper, and its deity is inevitably related to the Big Dipper. In the Song Dynasty, the statues of Suantian God are mostly barefoot (or wearing a round hat), holding the Big Dipper sword, with a snake on the right foot and a snake on the left foot. Stepping on a tortoise can also be said to have its origins. The God Xuantian was born on the third day of the third month of the Shangsi Festival in the lunar calendar, which is dedicated to eliminating disasters and alleviating evil.
